So today, I’m going to teach you one of my best secrets to getting an amazing conversion rate.

First, before you start any campaign or begin to market you have to start with your prospect.. ask yourself, “Who is my ideal prospect?” Take the time to write down exactly who they are: how old are they, what pain do they have, what frustrations, what fears, what goals, what problems.. your conversion rate is directly related to your ability to connect with your prospects and solve their problems. So you must understand what they are going through in order to write with pinpoint conversion accuracy.

I have been known to spend days with a pen and paper in hand, really drilling into who my ideal prospect is and more importantly, how I can help them.. after this is properly scoped out everything else falls into place.

If your conversion rate is suffering, you’re not connecting and you’re not solving problems. So today, go through and really connect with who your prospect is and write to them.. showing them you know who they are, what they are going through, and show them how to solve their problems.. when you do that.. your conversion rate will break new barriers and as you learn to connect and add products to this funnel.. the $ goes up and up and up.. and that’s the secret of generating massive traffic… which I’ll go into in another post.

First off thanks for all the great responses and comments to my blog.. this blog post is about something that is near and dear to my heart. Lately, I think we have been seeing signs around us that we need to get our eyes off ourselves and on the world.

For instance, look at Haiti. Hundreds of thousands of people died instantly because a huge hotel collapsed on them. And everywhere around us we see people asking to support and help Haiti. America has an eye for those in need (sure sometimes its a publicity stunt) but all in all America does step up to the plate.

I believe we need to do the same. I personally believe that the Lord guides us to success so we can become a blessing to His people. You might be wonder, “Does this “work” in the real world though?”. That’s an important question to consider.. So let’s turn the spot light on You.

Yes you. When you buy things or follow advice. What do you look for? I’m guessing that you look for someone that really sincerely wants to help you, has the track record to show they can, and that connects with what you want. Pretty much the what’s in it for you station.

Let me know what you look for before you buy something to see if I’m right on the money and please as a personal favor to me pray unceasingly for the Haitians and if possible share the wealth. I believe that you will be blessed in your heart if you do.

Remember treasure is best gained in the Spiritual world (because we won’t live for ever), but sometimes it’s also gained in the Physical world. What we choose to do with it – is what really makes life special.

Internet Marketing isn’t about you.

It’s not about what you want or need. It’s about the person at the other end. Your success is directly related to your ability to connect. In future posts I’ll discuss ways to connect with your audience, but today let’s discuss the why.

Why you need to forget about you.

In the world of advertising there is a little magic word called, “Relevancy” this can be simply defined as giving your customer/visitor what they want. And the more relevant you are (giving them what they want) the more your advertising will connect, which means you will get better rates for your advertising while make more money for each ad. It doesn’t stop there either..

Your traffic will love you for it.

Traffic to your website is the lifeblood of your business, but if you’re not giving them what they are looking for.. they are not going to come back, but even more importantly they are not going to let you provide value. And until you provide value in the lives of the people you are connecting with, you will never make a dime.

How to make even more than a dime.

1. Forget about you.

2. Research your customer like a value spy.

3. Figure out where your customer hides.

4. Show your customer your not a smooth criminal.

5. Connect with your customer like a hundred dollar pencil salesman.. (important you do this right).

6. Give ‘em what they want and sneak in what they need.

7. Focus on making them more successful for entering your world. And they will share theirs with you.

I’m going to be spending the next couple weeks going over these “basics” before we go into the hardcore strategies that will make your mouths drool and your prospects swarm to you like bees to honey.

These 7 Maxims I’m about to share with you will show the “secret” of being successful.. it’s not in the latest product launch, it’s not in your traffic, or even in your products.. it’s not your keyword research, your search engine optimization.. many people know and focus on these things, but don’t get the results they want to achieve..

What was this transforming mindset.. it was the TESTING mindset..

Let’s talk about Gary Halbert – Copy Writing Guru

Halbert figuratively put a gun to his own head and said, “Let’s make some money!” Now what did Gary do? He analyzed his data. Let’s credit Gary for HAVING data to measure.

Even if it wasn’t giving him the results he wanted. He had enough data to analyze his bottlenecks. Gary realized that his ratios indicated that AFTER his direct mailing was opened his ratios were high. So how could he make some money? Hmm. Aha.

He figured he could get more people to open his direct mailing. Now using split testing on his data. He made some changes to his data and tracked it.

He handwrote the address’, changed the envelope, and changed the bulk mailing to a postage stamp. This made it look like his direct mailing was actually a personal letter. This increased his direct mailing conversion.

Now, Gary hasn’t said if this was the FIRST or the ONLY change he made. However, it doesn’t matter. Gary won a direct mailing battle when he analyzed his data and found his bottlenecks.

He won another direct mailing battle when he decided to make changes until his conversion improved. Gary went on to become a legend (in his own mind) in direct marketing and copy writing. He worked harder than any of his competition and he analyzed everything until it became a method. The art comes after the science has been mastered.

Now Gary Halbert is widely considered one of the absolute best copy writers to ever grace the direct marketing world. His copy has singled handedly made millions upon millions of dollars. What if he quit at the first stroke of failure? What if you do?

The SECRET is in the sauce (that means you!) it’s not on what you do or how you drive traffic or monetize it. It’s how many times you’re willing to fall to learn something new. It’s not the money that you get that is the real treasure.

The real treasure are the skills that you gain. These skills will make you wealthy over and over again. Take any true success in any arena and he will be able to gain it back faster and larger with his skills.

So first let’s approach this the right way.

Many of us believe that successful Internet Marketing is directly related to how many secrets we know. Let me dispel this myth. There are no secrets. None. There is only data. All of the successful Internet Marketers confer on the same thing. Data is the great equalizer.

I noticed a reoccurring theme in myself. I‘ve been buying “learn the secrets” products and I didn’t have my website properly optimized to get search engine love. I‘ve have bought TONs of paid traffic without taking the time to research the niche.

I don’t think I‘m alone either.

We are looking for “secrets“ to build our business. I‘ve finally realized the secret. There are no secrets. None. There is only data. I repeated this to make sure it hasn’t been missed. Knowledge doesn’t create data, but data creates knowledge.

Many of us are afraid to get started. Why? We need information. We don’t have the “secrets“.....see how this all plays a part?

As John Reese says, “Make money with crap.“ Why? Because measured crap is data. You have a sucky conversion rate? You can split test the data and refine it. However, if you don’t have any goals or specific data to analyze you’re back to square 1. Looking for secrets..So put together some crap and let‘s get some data!

You don’t have any success?

Time to throw in the towel right? Nope! Let‘s go analyze the data. Where are your bottlenecks? What can you change and what can you measure that change against? This is the true science of Internet Marketing. Have you analyzed your competition? How are they making money and you’re not? Can you copy their methods and learn what works? Yes you can. IF you‘re measuring your data. At this point with data to measure you can buy products with the idea in mind to USE it, TEST it, and MEASURE it.

I have gotten to know on a personal level.

So, I want to talk to you now on this same personal level. If you want to succeed I think the following information may end up becoming one of the foundations of your success.

Now you may be wondering, C. how can you make such a bold claim as to say that you have the secret to my success? Simple, you see many successful people all say the same things. Just as the Bible says there is nothing new under the sun. I say there is nothing new to becoming successful.

I would even go so far as to say, that the reason why you are STRUGGLING to find success is because you believe there is something new under the sun. It is this belief and focus that causes you to latch on to things “outside of your control” these are things that are not given to you to control.

The things you are given to control are simple:

Your time.
Your health.
Your life.
Your business

I am about to just give it to you straight because there is so much misinformation out there. And it is all designed to give you one single thought:

“You are not successful because of something you do not know.”

If you follow every single sales letter, empty promise, and scam out there it is all centered around the same 4 letter word: Hope. What is this hope? Maybe it is that you will grow a couple inches, have a better life, be a little happier, or just plain like who you see in the
mirror.

Is it really money you seek or maybe something else? Something deeper darker and more insidious.. maybe it’s just plain self respect. I don’t know the answer to that, but I do know one thing, you won’t find your solution in any sales letter, product, and not even in these carefully poised words until you are ready to face your real obstacle.

What is the obstacle that is stopping you from success?

Before, we talk about what is stopping you from success let us talk about what successful people do to become successful. Seems like a logical place to start doesn’t it?

Successful people do what unsuccessful people will not do.

That’s the big secret.

- Successful people will hold on to 100 bucks that could be spent on a new product, when the old one they have hasn’t been opened yet.

- Successful people will write an article a day, to build up backlinks and a little bit of daily traffic.

- Successful people will take a couple weeks to make their own product when they find a nicheful of hungry buyers.

- Successful people will seek out other successful people and leverage a joint partnership.

- Successful people will follow a plan until it is a success.

Now, at this point you are probably thinking, okay so that’s the big secret C.? That’s why you have taken time out of your precious life to write this post. Just so you can state the obvious? Yes and no, it goes a little bit deeper.

What drives successful people?

Successful people do when unsuccessful people do not. This isn’t something you can’t find in a sales letter, a new shiny product, or the newest Google slap information. These things don’t matter. In fact the most successful business owners I know, do the things that most people consider, “basic.”

Funny isn’t it.

The general thought process is: I need to LEARN what those other business owners are doing. While they are just sticking with what they know works. It’s not what you know that determines your success, but what you do.

So, what is it that separates those who do from those who do not?

That’s why this post was written.

I was a young punk. I used to drink and basically spend my life putting one toxic substance into my body after another. I was focused on just eeking out a normal existence, while thinking how big I was in my head. I was pitiful.

Then reality struck. My mother passed away from Cancer. This caused me to really reevaluate my life, I stopped drinking, I stopped doing drugs, and I stopped sleeping with every girl that caught my fancy. I realized that life is just a brief moment in the span of eternity. And I started to pray.

I was given deep, deep revelations as I prayed and read the Bible. And that’s when my WHY started to come together for me. I remembered during these moments that when I was younger, I watched
my mother and father come home, go to work, come home, go to work, watch tv and try to fit a “life” into the brief moments that could be shared, usually on the weekends.

I thought to myself, isn’t there more to life than this? It was with this question looming in my mind that I begin to look around watching all of the different lives around me. I saw so many friends and their families, as well as my own family. Just so depressed. Living out lives of quiet desperation.

Now, I don’t believe that you must have a business to be successful or even happy in life, but I do believe you should be given the chance to create one. At the very base components, business is about providing value on a massive scale. Later, you systemize it so you may create more systems
of value. As you do well with small things, you are given greater.

My WHY was beginning to form. What if I could learn how to create my own businesses, and then later give this information back to those I love. What if I could give to families that had nowhere else to turn. What if I could do SOMETHING with my life that didn’t consist of just, me. What if
I could make an impact with this brief moment of time that I share with you all. What if what if what if.

My WHY was solid. I wanted to learn business so I could, make businesses of value, so I could provide value in other people’s lives and I wanted to teach others how they can do it also. I wanted to help people work from home, so that they can raise their kids. I wanted to see kids grow up in
strong safe environments full of parental guidance and support. I wanted to make a difference.

This WHY drove me when I didn’t want to succeed. It drives me even now. It drives me when I’m up in the morning at 2 AM wanting to sleep, but I end up staying up until 7 AM finishing up “work” that I don’t even need to do. This WHY caused me to work 70 hours a week at my businesses until
I had them systemized to run themselves. This WHY caused me to go to people I love and who trust me to ask them for money, as I showed them my crude business plan. This WHY drove me then and it drives me now.

So, I ask you my friends after sharing my story, and my WHY – what is yours? Let us all join together and create WHY’s of such strength and substance that the choice between watching TV and providing value in other peoples’ lives becomes so automatic, so precise, and so driven.

Then we too can say that we do what other people will not do. While others are sleeping away into the night, we toil. While others watch TV, we toil. While others quit because of an unsuccessful campaign, we press on! While others quit because of an angry spouse, we move forward! Why? Because we have no other choice. We have no other option. We are trapped in our WHYs – together.

We too can claim the prize of knowing that we are a success because we did what others would not do. Not because we are better, more powerful, stronger, or wiser, but because we knew our WHY.
